An ex, as often as a government job

Over 92 days, 1,464 people asked whether an ex would come back or whether a breakup could be patched up. Almost as many, 1,383, asked about a government job. Of all love and relationship questions, 26% were about an ex.

Marriage leads, and language changes the worry

Marriage was the most common first question: 32% of typed first questions, and 44% once love and partner questions are added. It depends on the language people wrote in:

  • In Hinglish, 48% of first questions were about marriage. In English, 29%.
  • Children came up four times as often in Hinglish (7.4%) as in English (1.8%).
  • Love and ex questions ran the other way: 13.7% in English, 7.0% in Hinglish.

People ask when, not what

42.6% of first questions asked for a time. For children it was 77.7%, for a home 70.8%, for a career 55.8% and for marriage 54.9%.

After midnight

15.6% of askers (4,513 people) asked at least once between midnight and 4am IST. Midnight was as busy as 11pm, the busiest hour of the day.

How these numbers were made

  • Who: 28,919 people located in India by connection, who asked 157,974 questions in the Om.AI app and at omai.app between 28 July and 27 October 2026. They found Om.AI through ads and search, so this describes people who asked an AI astrologer, not India as a whole.
  • First questions: 19,024 new users' typed first questions. Questions tapped from suggestion buttons are left out.
  • Topics: assigned automatically by the same rules the app uses to read a question. No person read any question.
  • Privacy: only counts were kept. Every figure here covers at least 100 people and includes no message text, birth details or anything that could identify someone. See our Privacy Policy.
